My new obsesssion - Pocket Pal Letters

I am sure a lot of you have heard of  Janete Lanes Pocket Pal Letters, what fun they are to make.

I have made ATC's for years and these are the same concept.

You make 9 ATC size cards, embellish them in a theme and add little embellies and odds and ends to the back for your Pocket Pal.  One of the pockets holds a letter from you about yourself.  Similar to the old days of letter writing via snail mail.

This is my first Pocket Letter I made and it is for Judy, who is a Christian, country girl who loves animals and has her own horses.

It's a great way to use up cardstock and embellishments that you have been hoarding, if you are like me.  I had some great vintage rubons that I added to the back, added some Chai tea and made a chain charm for the side.  The stickpin I made for the packaging is an extra long one that I made.

I made a little booklet with some special quotes and added the little cross and flowers to the front.
Hope you like it.

Hugs
Glenda

Mason jar pin cushions

I hosted a swap at Scrapbook.com and made these two pin cushion mason jars for two very talented ladies.

On both the jars I glued beaded lace that I used from a wedding dress.  I made the stickpins and filled the jars with mostly handmade embellishments.

Inspirational Canvas ...

Good morning, I would like to share an inspirational  canvas that I created.

I love angels and had a "Rock and Roll" canvas that my son didn't want anymore, so I painted it pink, added some gesso to give it some texture and had a great time using the beautiful angel images I had.  I added the wooden pegs so that I can change my versus around and add new inspirational messages to it.

Thanks for looking.

Valentine Tag ....

This valentine tag was made for a swap.

I fussy cut the images and punched the paper with one of my favorite lace  punches, then I made the flower with a Martha Stewart punch and added some lace to the tag.

Two 5 x 7 canvases ....

I created two 5 x 7 canvases, one I did for my scraproom.  I love the image and kept the colors very neutral

This canvas is for a swap I am in.  I made the flower with the Martha Stewart Paper Punch, made the stick pin and added the banner at the top.

Pin cushions ...

Stick pins are one of my favorite things to make.  I love giving them to friends or adding them as embellishments to items I make.

I wanted to share some of the pincushions I have made to hold a few of my stickpins   They are really fun to make and are beautiful to display.

Mini Dress Forms

I really, really love dress forms and wanted to share a few I have made.

They are great as embellishments for cards, tags or even to be displayed on their own.

Most of the forms I have used are from the Tim Holtz Dies.

This white lace is just adorable and I love the way the little skirt came out.  The corset was a die cut that I painted, added some trim to and the flower is one I made and added a button to the center.

This is one of my favorite colors lately.  The fabric is from a bridal dress I cut up.  I used the satin from the dress to make the flower, made the stick pin and added the beaded lace .

This was so much fun to make.  Each dress reminds me of a friend and what style they would wear.

Thanks for looking.  Have an awesome day.

Fairy Pin Cushion ...

This is a pin cushion I made  for my friend Bobbie.

I used a Yankee candle Jar.   Lined the base and two thirds of the back with paper, embellished the base with trim and a little spool.  I put a sentiment on the back of the paper and added the fairy.
For the pincushion part, I used a half Styrofoam piece, covered it with batting and fabric and stitched some pearls to the top.  I glued it onto the lid and added the outside trim.
I love making stickpins and made a few to embellish the top.

Fabric Book...

This was my first attempt at making a fabric book.  It was for a swap for my secret sister Martica.
I had a hard time parting with it once I was finished.

Materials used:  2 pieces of chipboard and cotton fabric for the front and back cover.  I used some vintage laces, fabric flowers, stick pins, fussy cut some images and different embellishment to finish it off.

The fabrics were stitched together  and added batting to give them some extra padding.

Flowers, flowers and more flowers ...

I love to keep busy when I am watching tv and I have been working on these flowers.

Cigar Box

I went into a local Cigar Store and asked the owner if I could have some cigar boxes and he said on condition I go back and show him what I have created.  After I left the store, I could smell the cigar smoke on my clothes and haven't gone back since.  Guess you can tell I am not a smoker.

Here is a cigar box I painted, covered with my favorite paper and embellished.  I love the Tim Holtz feet, they just add such a stylish fininsh to a project.

Curtain, Heart, door hanger and basket

My craft room has a small window in the corner and I wanted to add a really girly look to it.
I purchased some really, really frilly fabric for it (my husband was a little shocked when I showed him :) )  It was really simple to make and I gathered it at the bottom and added some pink and white ribbon to the bottom of it.

I had some left over fabric and made this heart to hang on the door handle.  I am really happy with the way is came out.  The ballet shoe I bought at a Thrift Store, which incidently I don't have much luck shopping it.  The fabric flowers are so much fun to make and I added them for a touch of color.

This hanger I going to be for bits of lace and ribbons.  I used an anglaise fabric, lace, trim. and attached it to a satin covered hanger with chiffon ribbon.

I always have bits and pieces of lace and ribbon that I can use on other projects so I decided to cover this little basket and added some of my fabric flowers to it.  I leave it on my desk for when I need little pieces, this way there is no waste.
